What makes Escapely virtual events the best on the market?

We pride ourselves on executing seamless events for every single client, every single time. We do whatever it takes and we’re often told we’re the most friendly and helpful folks clients have ever worked with. Also, our event staffing ratio is unmatched in the industry.

Are Escapely virtual events built specifically for the virtual space?

Yes! We took advantage of features not possible in live events to make our virtual games more interactive and more fun.

Does every client get complimentary full-service planning services, regardless of group size?

Of course - that comes naturally to us. Our event team will answer all of your questions and work with you to plan the perfect event for your needs. We are always available before and during your event to handle any issues that arise.

Can you accommodate very large or very small groups?

We can host up to about 600 participants in a session, all broken out into small teams with their own moderator - we have a large (and amazing) team! For larger groups, we often recommend dividing into multiple sessions to accommodate different time zones.

We have also hosted teams as small as three people. Our events scale to meet the needs of any group size.

What is Escapely’s commitment to diversity?

Escapely is a female-owned small business with an all-female leadership team. The diverse group of game moderators and character actors we work with is 42% minority, 48% LGBTQ, and 71% female at the most recent demographic survey (out of 81 respondents).

Are virtual events just for the pandemic?

Virtual events are a cost-effective and convenient way for teams to bond. We are able to take advantage of interactive features not possible in live events.

What is the experience like?

Our virtual escape room demo video provides a great overview of the event. Participants collaborate on teams to solve puzzles while racing against the other teams to escape first. At the end, the whole group comes back together to announce the winner!

How long should we allow?

Our virtual escape game is a 60-minute fully moderated experience, including introduction and wrap up.

If you have a tighter timeframe, we do have 30-minute and 45-minute versions.

Will participants get timed out if they don’t finish in the allotted time?

No. Each team gets the satisfaction of escaping! Our moderators pace each team appropriately so that no team falls too far behind.

What is included?

All escape game events include an emcee, technical staff, and one dedicated moderator per small team.

Do you really provide a dedicated moderator for each small team?

We sure do! The moderators do not bounce around. They will be with the teams from start to finish guiding them through the game, providing hints, and keeping them on pace. Most importantly, they will be making sure everyone is engaged and having a great time!

What do the moderators do?

The moderators guide the participants through the game. They show participants all of the puzzles, videos, audio, and other information as needed. They provide hints as needed, answer questions, and pace all of the teams appropriately so that everyone finishes in the allotted time.

What is the run of show for the escape game?

Participants click the provided link to join. A lively emcee will explain the rules and get everyone excited to play. The technical staff works behind the scenes to set up the breakout rooms so that at the right moment, each participant is invited to join their team and meet their personal game master. The game master takes them through the game, providing hints and answering questions as needed. When all teams finish, we bring the whole group back together to announce the winners!

What are my escape game choices?

You can view all of our scenarios. When you book, our event team can make suggestions based on your desires, but rest assured that all of our themes have varied puzzles that incorporate a wide range of skills and talents.

Which scenario is the most popular?

This is really a matter of personal opinion! We have companies who have played all of our escape game scenarios and everyone has a different favorite.

Which scenario is the hardest?

This also depends on a team’s relative strengths – an impossible puzzle to one team is sometimes an easy puzzle to another. Escape the Ice Palace is typically thought to be the most challenging, but the moderators will give as much help as needed so that any team can make it through any of the scenarios.

Will participants need to open or download any attachments?

No. Our game masters will show them everything they need to see and hear. We do allow and encourage the use of the internet during our games, but we recommend having a cell phone handy to look things up as needed.

What is the ideal team size?

We will work with you to choose the right team size for your needs. Our recommended size is about 7 per team, but we can always increase the team sizes to accommodate budget constraints.

What happens if some teams finish faster than others?

It’s inevitable that teams will finish at slightly different times - that’s the whole point of the game! We keep everyone on their small team until everyone is finished so that no one knows who won or how they did. It’s also more bonding time - they rehash the puzzles, debate whether they won or not, and catch up with each other.

What are the customization options?

Customization can range from including a company logo to fully custom themes. We can create a storyline unique to your company - for example, a nemesis has stolen company secrets and we need you to get them back! We can incorporate baby photos into custom puzzles, create product-specific puzzles, and even use your office headquarters as a backdrop. The sky is the limit!

What is the experience like?

Our virtual murder mystery demo video provides a great overview of the event. Participants work in teams to review evidence, interrogate live actors, and try to crack the case. Teams are scored based on the facts they are able to uncover and at the end we announce the winner!

How long should we allow?

Our virtual murder mystery is a 90-minute immersive experience.

What is included?

All murder mystery events include a lead investigator to run the show, technical staff, and five live actors in character as the suspects.

You will also receive full-service planning services throughout the booking and event planning process. Our team is always available to help!

What is the run of show for the murder mystery?

Participants click the provided link to join. An emcee - your lead investigator - will set the scenario and get everyone excited. The technical staff works behind the scenes to set up the breakout rooms so that each team can interrogate each of the five suspects privately. In between, we all come back together as a group to review additional evidence. At the end, all teams have a chance to deliberate amongst themselves and make their accusations. Then, we bring the whole group back together to reveal the storyline and announce the winners!

Do our participants have to play any parts?

No. All of the roles in our murder mystery are played by our actors and actresses. Your participants get to play investigator - they just show up, work together, and have fun!

Will participants need to open or download any attachments?

The suspects (played by our lively character actors) will show participants all of the evidence they need to see - there is nothing to open or download. At the end of the game, teams make their accusations via a google form. If your company is unable to open google forms, just let us know and we will make alternate arrangements!

How long should we allow?

We recommend 60-90 minutes, but we can fit into any timeframe you prefer.

What is included?

How many rounds of bingo will we play?

Your group will typically play 5-6 rounds of bingo in a one hour session.

What types of bingo games will we play?

We always start off with a standard five-across bingo game. We then incorporate lots of other game types depending on your timing. You might play four corners, X, plus sign, frame, blackout, and more!

What are the technical requirements?

For the most smooth experience, participants should access their bingo card using the google Chrome browser.

What are the customization options?

We can include your company logo and branding on our bingo caller, which will be seen throughout the game by the participants. We can also incorporate company buzzwords into the squares, rather than just using numbers.

What is the experience like?

An engaging mixologist will teach participants to make a cocktail of your choice. We typically teach one cocktail and one mocktail.

What are my cocktail choices?

We offer mojito, gin smash, martini, old fashioned, and champagne cocktail. We typically teach one cocktail and one mocktail.

How long should we allow?

We recommend 30-60 minutes, but we can fit into any timeframe you prefer. If this is a warm-up to one of our other events, we typically recommend 30 minutes.

What is included?

All events include an engaging mixologist to lead your group through the cocktail making, cocktail fun facts, and a kit mailed to each participant. It does not include alcohol, but we can arrange alcohol delivery for some locations.

You will also receive full-service event planning services throughout the booking and event planning process. Our team is always available to help!

What is the experience like?

A winemaker or sommelier will lead participants through a guided tasting of five wine varietals. They will learn about how wine is made, receive pairing suggestions, and have the opportunity to ask any questions they like!

How long should we allow?

We recommend 60 minutes, but we can fit into any timeframe you prefer.

What is included?

All events include a winemaker or sommelier to lead your group through a guided tasting of five wines. We send the kit of wines to each participant.

You will also receive full-service event planning services throughout the booking and event planning process. Our team is always available to help!

What is the experience like?

An engaging chocolatier will guide participants through the tasting of five handmade chocolates. They will learn about the history of chocolate, how chocolate is made, and learn about pairings. Participants will have the opportunity to ask any questions they like!

How long should we allow?

We recommend 60 minutes, but we can fit into any timeframe you prefer.

What is included?

All events include an engaging chocolatier to lead your group through the tasting. We ship chocolates to each participant. Everyone receives two sets - one for the tasting and one for later!

You will also receive full-service event planning services throughout the booking and event planning process. Our team is always available to help.

How many participants can you host in one session?

We typically host up to 600 in each session, though we do make exceptions. For larger groups, it is often a good idea to break into several smaller sessions of no more than 500-600 each. Our event planners will work with you to determine the best options for your event.

What do participants need to access the event?

A computer connected to the internet with a mic and webcam. A brain is recommended, but nothing else is required. We will explain everything once participants arrive!

How do I invite and prepare participants?

If desired, we provide several photo invitations for you to choose from. After booking, we send pertinent details and instructions so you know what to expect. We also send a link you can share with participants that includes a teaser and some details about what they can expect.

The bottom line is that no prep work is required - participants just show up ready for some fun!

When will I get my link?

We send game links one week before the event. If you need it sooner, just ask!

How will participants join the event?

We send a game link that you will distribute to your team. Participants simply click the link at the correct time. It helps if participants have the Zoom app downloaded in advance, but if they do not, they will be given the option to download it when they click the link.

Can I book an event at any time?

Our events are all custom scheduled. Just let us know your time preference and we will set it up.

We work in every time zone around the world. Note that there is sometimes a small surcharge to operate in the middle of the night US Pacific time.

How much time should we allow?

Please allow 60 minutes for the escape game and 90 minutes for the murder mystery. When necessary, we do have shorter escape game versions. Our virtual bingo, wine tasting, cocktail mixer, and chocolate tasting can be any length of your choosing.

Can you accommodate a strict time constraint?

Absolutely. We will work within your event guidelines.

How much will it cost?

Pricing depends on many factors - your chosen activity, whether or not we are shipping kits, your group size, event details, and the staffing needed. Send over your event details and we will get right back to you with a quote!

If you have a budget, let us know and we will recommend an activity and staffing level that fits within it.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, ACH, wire, and check. That said, we are generally agreeable, and if you want to pay in red velvet cupcakes...we might be able to work something out. ;)

How do you divide the teams?

If your goal is for everyone to mix, mingle, and form new connections, we will divide teams randomly. If you prefer to determine teams so that certain personalities interact, we are happy to accommodate.

Are there customization options?

Absolutely. We can include your company logo and more in any of our events. Please see these details regarding fully custom escape rooms.

Is there an ice breaker activity?

Our games themselves are an excellent ice breaker. However, when we do events for groups that do not all know each other, we always allow time in the small teams for introductions before getting started.

How is team building reinforced?

Our games are excellent team builders. They were all designed with collaboration and leadership in mind! Participants need to communicate, listen, and problem solve together to move through our games.

For those looking to go deeper, we do offer a post-game facilitation package during which a trained facilitator will lead your team through a debrief, reflection and discussion session.

Can I provide a prize?

Absolutely! Lots of companies do this to up the ante. However, it’s not necessary - we have found that bragging rights are quite motivating to the participants!

Do I need a computer to join?

We recommend that escape game participants join with a computer or tablet because of the larger screen size. It makes it easier to see the puzzles and play along! If a smartphone is the only option, it will suffice. Our other events are most enjoyable from a computer but can be joined from any device.

Do all participants need a mic and webcam?

Participants will want a mic and webcam so everyone else can see and hear them. If a participant does not have a webcam, they will be able to see the other participants but no one will see them.

Which platform is used for the game?

We run our events over video conferencing – no special logins or downloads are necessary!

We prefer Zoom for ease of use and features. However, when Zoom is not an option, we can use Webex, Google Meet, or Teams.

Do participants need to download the platform in advance?

If your event is over Zoom, it is helpful if participants download the Zoom app in advance (you will receive instructions at booking). If not, they will also be prompted to download the app when they click the link. If the Zoom app is not an option, participants can join through the web browser, but please note we do not recommend this for the escape game as participants will not be able to draw on the screen.

If Zoom is not an option, we can also operate over Webex, Google Meet, or Teams.

Can I provide my own game link?

We provide a Zoom link for each game. However, if this event is part of a larger conference or activity, we are always happy to join your link and run the activity from there. We will provide a list of settings that need to be enabled in order to run the game.

If we will be running the game over Webex, Teams, or Google Meet, we have a slightly different process depending on the event type. Our event team will explain the specifics during booking.
