  • Open your clue box anywhere near the Spirit of Detroit Plaza to begin your adventure.
  • Begin solving using anything you see in the box. Scan the QR code to input your solution and find out where to go.
  • Search for real-world clues hidden around downtown Detroit and use them to solve puzzles. When you input the correct code, the app will tell you where to go and what to do!
  • If you get stuck, the no-download app has as many hints as you need. It also has storyline, videos, and more.
  • Play at your own pace. There's no penalty for hints and no one gets timed out.

    Inside the escape room box, you will find:

  • Lockbox with a real lock
  • Clue envelopes that are locked until you're told otherwise!
  • Other fun clue items, like spy glasses, a passport, and an ID card

  • PLAYERS PER BOX: We suggest 2-6 so that everyone can share the clues, but it's completely up to you. You can even play alone!

    Loved it!!

    This was so much fun!! We had recently moved to Detroit and my sister and her husband came for a visit. This was a fantastic way to see the city, learn some local history, and just have a great time! The challenges were pretty hard sometimes so the clues were very helpful. We were so excited when we figured it out. I am buying 3 more to have in the apartment for when people come to visit. Highly recommend Escapely to anyone!!

    What a great way to bond with family.

    I wanted to do something different with my family so I decided to try the outdoor escape room in Detroit. It was the best decision I made on the trip. Me, my wife and daughter had a lot fun trying to solve the mystery while sightseeing the city. It is a challenge but as you answer the questions and advance in the game it gets more and more rewarding. We really enjoyed the adventure. I was worried that my 22 year old would think it was boring but she really got into it. She actually took charge of our adventure and was determined to solve the mystery. The cost is very fair and you can play at your own pace. The more people involved the better as there are so many hidden gems that one or two people may have difficulty locating. Three heads are better than two. It took us several hours which we didn’t even realize because we were so into the game. Now when we travel we are looking to see if Escapely is available on our next destination.

    This was an absolutely amazing experience, I’ve been doing escape rooms several times a year for the past 10 years or so and this was a refreshing change. Walking through areas of Detroit I’ve never had reason to when going for sporting events or concerts, supporting small local businesses as we solved puzzles at our own pace. The puzzles were delightfully difficult but eventually we (4 35-45 year old adults and 1 12 year old) usually got them, only opening the hints on the last two. What a great way to spend a Saturday evening, 10/10

This Escapely adventure brings you out of the traditional escape room and takes you around downtown Detroit to track down clues and expose double agents!

In Escapely's Detroit escape room, you are a top secret spy tasked with exposing a ring of double agents threatening to take down the agency. We suggest starting near the Spirit of Detroit Plaza, an outdoor event space where everyone in Detroit can enjoy fun and entertainment. The first stop is the International Memorial to the Underground Railroad. Not only is it an important historical marker, but it sits on the Detroit riverwalk. It's peaceful, scenic, and romantic. If you're in the mood for some exercise, you can rent bikes and ride up and down, and if you're with kids you can even walk down to the carousel!

The next clue will be found at the Transcending Monument in Hart Plaza, which honors the Detroit labor movement. You'll continue on to the UAW-Ford Joint Trusts Center, the Penobscot Building, the Detroit City Club apartments, and Harmonie Park. We suggest ending the game at Campus Martius Park, which always has a handful food trucks on hand. If none of those suit your fancy and you have worked up an appetite, there are many restaurants in walking distance.

Yes, you can play Spyhunter games in different cities. However, it is generally not recommended unless you are a dedicated escape room enthusiast. You see, playing Spyhunter games in different cities is like playing escape rooms with the same storylines and similar puzzles. The experience will be identical, except you will be dealing with different sets of clues. Because the clues are integrated within downtown Detroit, they are distinct from all other Spyhunter games, but the puzzles will feel familiar.
An outdoor escape room is a real-world adventure that leads you through a series of clues to solve a problem or mystery! It shares similarities with classic escape rooms, except you are not locked in a room!
