The best Charlotte escape room experience

About the escape room game

This escape room adventure around Uptown Charlotte takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in Charlotte. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around Uptown Charlotte to track down clues and expose double agents!

This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Charlotte. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Charlotte escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way.

In Escapely's Charlotte escape room, you are a top secret spy tasked with exposing a ring of double agents threatening to take down the agency. We suggest starting at Waterbean Coffee in Uptown, right across from the Uptown Charlotte Visitors Center, but you can pick any location you'd like. It's a great place to grab a quick bite or cup of coffee while you start the escape room! One of the first places you will visit is Romare Bearden Park. It's a gorgeous park worthy of a visit in its own right, with sculptures reminiscent of Bearden's iconic collage style. It's also a great opportunity to learn more about this famous African-American Charlotte-born artist. There are even some fun facts to learn throughout the game. Next, travel to the triple-A baseball park where you might get to hear a game going on inside. In addition to minor league games, it's used for college baseball games.

Another puzzle location is at the Ratcliffe's Flowers sign, an iconic neon sign that is the only thing that remains in the original Ratcliffe's Flowers location. After the famous flower shop closed, a bank planned a parking garage in its place. Instead of destroying the historic building, they moved it down the street where it houses a restaurant today. Finally, you'll visit the Green, a gorgeous literature-themed park in Uptown Charlotte. We recommend staying there to finish out the game on the giant benches made to look like books. However, there are plenty of restaurants in Uptown Charlotte if you're looking for a bite to eat as you finish the escape room game.

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you are a serious escape room enthusiast. It would be like playing an escape room that has the same storyline and similar puzzles, but with different clues available. Because the clues are integrated within Uptown Charlotte, the clues are different from all other Spyhunter games. But the puzzles will feel familiar.
Uptown Charlotte is walkable and full of culture and history. There are several beautiful parks players will visit throughout the game, and it's a great chance to learn a little about Charlotte! The Uptown Charlotte Visitor Center is right near both the start and end of the game, and they have plenty of resources for those wanting to explore more in the area. It's the Central Business District of Charlotte, so if you go during the week, it's quite bustling. However, the weekends bring in traffic to the ballpark, the parks, and restaurants. An outdoor escape room is the perfect way to experience the area and see some things in Uptown Charlotte you may not have noticed before!
It's both! In a traditional escape room you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next, with clues in the real world. It's one of the best things to do in Charlotte!
You can park anywhere in Uptown Charlotte, ideally near the Visitor Info Center. The game starts and ends close to the same place and the area is small and walkable.
There are no indoor clues in our Charlotte escape room game. Everything is publicly accessible.
