    a great group activity!

This outdoor escape room was an awesome experience! I completed it with two friends, and it took us about 2.5 hours (although we took our time exploring the neighborhood). Even though we are all Chicago natives, we had never been to this neighborhood and this activity helped us discover a whole new part of the city! It was better in a smaller group because the puzzles were sequential, and it was pretty straightforward (although definitely challenging!) what you needed to do. There were tons of creative puzzles and mediums, and we had a blast! Just be prepared… visiting all the fun different shops might make you hungry 🙂

    LOVE!

My friends and I had a blast doing the Chicago escapely last weekend. It was a wonderful way to explore Fulton market. I think it was challenging in the best way! The variety of tasks was great and allowed all members of our group to contribute. Such a well thought out adventure!

Searching for clues, finding local spots

My cousin and I had a great time exploring an adorable neighborhood for the first time with this game. We spent about 2 hours engaged in puzzles, hints, searching for clues and finding very cool local attractions. It was a great time!

    Super fun family activity!

My older son was looking for a birthday present for my wife/his mom and came across Escapely on Instagram. We really had a fun time doing it!
There were a few tasks that were harder than the next – for Chicago the Time Out Market task was pretty challenging – but the game is well thought out enough to provide hints if you need them to help ensure a successful completion.

While more like Clue than Amazing Race, we loved that it was in the city and a good activity to do as a family (high school aged kids). We’ll look into doing in other cities when we can!

Sun's Out, Puzzles Out! A Fun Experience for Couples, Friends, or Family!

Wow! What a fun and fulfilling experience! My wife and I are escape room fanatics, so we saw the Escapely outdoor escape room, and we knew we had to try it! We were not disappointed! The puzzles are accessible and challenging, with hints on the website as needed. We got to really explore the city, too, which made it even more fun. We saw places we had never been before, and it was cool to get our steps in while solving puzzles! What a great way to enjoy time outside and together. The way the puzzles interacted with real-world elements was really clever and immersive. 10/10 we recommend doing this or any Escapely game!

Chicago escape room FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you are a serious escape room enthusiast. It would be like playing an escape room that has the same storyline and similar puzzles, but with different clues available. Because the clues are integrated within Fulton Market, the clues are different than all other Whodunnit games. But the puzzles will feel familiar.
Fulton Market is an up-and-coming urban neighborhood with a thriving entertainment scene. The culinary options are near endless, including many that are stops along the escape room (come hungry!). It was once an industrial warehouse district, and now features many colorful murals - perfect for clues. It's a walkable area and easy to get to. It's both! In a traditional escape room you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next, with clues in the real world. It's one of the best things to do in Chicago!
We suggest parking near N Peoria Street and W Lake Street, as that is where you will start the game. Fulton Market is a small enough area that anywhere in the vicinity will work. In our Fulton Market escape room, there are several clues located in businesses (some even give our players a discount!). You will not need to interact with staff or make a purchase to play, but you will need to enter to find the clues.
