Begin solving using anything you see in the box. Scan the QR code to input your solution and find out where to go.
Search for real-world clues hidden around Chicago and use them to solve puzzles. When you input the correct code, the app will tell you where to go and what to do!
If you get stuck, the no-download app has as many hints as you need. It also has storyline, videos, and more.

IMPORTANT: All games in the Whodunnit series have the same storyline and similar puzzles. Clues are different but solves will be familiar.
PLAYING TIME: 1.5-3 hours depending on experience level and how much you eat, drink, and explore along the way

PLAYERS PER BOX: We suggest 2-6 so that everyone can share the clues, but it's completely up to you. You can even play alone!
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Adjustable. There's no penalty for hints, so you can take them frequently or challenge yourself.

SO MUCH FUN!

I got this as a Christmas gift and my friends and I had a BALL! We played when it got warm outside (good weather is definitely a plus) and the entire time we were walking around we kept saying how much fun it was and how we wished Chicago had more boxes like this. I’d absolutely play again!

SO MUCH FUN

We LOVED this game. Each new location was so fun to explore and the staff at each restaurant were so kind and loved learning what we were doing. I wish we could play again! It took us 2 hours but it could not have gone smoother— every clue and hint was so well organized and worked perfectly. This is extremely well planned and you can tell a lot of work went into this to make sure it worked well!!

Super fun and challenging - a great way to explore the city

I bought this without knowing too much about it ahead of time, but it was so much fun! I did this with a group of friends on a Saturday evening and it was a blast. It was challenging, we ended up using a few hints but felt overall it was the right level of difficulty. It was a bit harder to complete given how crowded a few of the clue locations were on a Saturday night, but it was still do-able and also a good excuse to stop for refreshments on the way. I would definitely recommend this, I hope they come out with another one for Chicago sometime. 🙂

Great family activity!

I completed this with my wife, 11-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son as a Father’s Day activity. We thoroughly enjoyed the game! Outdoor “”escape room”” experiences like this are a great family activity — taking the puzzle-solving fun of escape rooms but eliminating the stress and time pressure. The best part was the way the puzzles integrated real-world elements, both indoors at local businesses and outdoors in the neighborhood.

The writing in the game was really well done — clear, concise, and fun to read out loud — though it could have used more local flavor.

Fun way to get to know Chicago/Fulton Market

My girlfriend and I visited Chicago for our anniversary this past January. I saw this on my Instagram one day and decided to try it out. The escape room adventure was set in Fulton Market. We stayed nearby to solve the mystery. It started us with clues inside the box and led to finding clues in the neighborhood.

Overall, the experience was amazing. The puzzles were difficult but also provided enough guidance to help us navigate when we got stuck. Each of the puzzles are very unique and thought provoking. My girlfriend and I like to play escape rooms and this was another exceptional experience. We would both highly recommend playing this in Chicago to get to know the city and give the brain a bit of a workout.

In Escapely's Chicago escape room, you're a detective tasked with solving a mysterious murder. You must find clues and track suspects around Fulton Market. (The clues are in the real world, but the suspects are on our app.) You start off in search of your first clue at pizza spot PB&J, which offers Escapely players discounts from time to time on our app. Then you get to visit Time Out Market, showcasing some of the best food and drink Chicago has to offer (come hungry).

Since you'll be ready for dessert by then, your next clue is at Molly's Cupcakes. Then you head to the Fulton Market sign to catch up with another suspect and see what clues you can find.
