The Best Outdoor Escape Room Experience in New York City
Outdoor Escape Room NYC
This outdoor escape room adventure around Central Park takes the best parts of an escape room and a scavenger hunt and combines them into the most fun thing to do in NYC. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, an Escapely adventure takes you around New York City's famous Central Park, starting near the 79th Street entrance on the Upper East Side.
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Manhattan. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure around Central Park to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our NYC escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. Escapely's New York escape room begins with an invitation to the Queen of Heart's royal tea party - but you quickly learn that the Queen has cursed Alice and all of Wonderland, and it's up to you to break that curse. We suggest starting on the Met steps where you have some space to sit down and solve. As you crack codes and advance throughout the escape game, you'll find clues at Greywacke Arch, Belvedere Castle, and the Shakespeare Garden. A fun stretch of the game takes you through the Ramble, a wooded part of Central Park. Then you'll cross Bow Bridge and continue to Bethesda Fountain and Bethesda Terrace. Finally, of course, since the theme of our New York escape room game is Alice in Wonderland, you'll get to visit the Alice in Wonderland statue by the Central Park boat pond. If you play with kids, they will probably want to stop and climb on the statue. This is a popular spot for proposals and as a matter of fact, we have had several players propose right here after finishing the game! If you didn't stop to have a picnic along the way, this is a perfect spot to end the game.

Great Time in the Park
We loved this box and greatly enjoyed it with our family (13M, 32F, 33M, 50M, 48F).
We particularly enjoyed the final puzzle, which had some fun integration of the clues, storyline, and physical environment. We would absolutely do this again and recommend it to others for other cities!

Native NYers escape Central Park
The story was fun and interactive. As native New Yorkers, we didn’t expect to learn so much about Central Park. Even our teenaged sons enjoyed this experience!

Fun for the whole family
We had fun with the game! We were a family group of five adults and everyone could solve the puzzles. The hardest ones for us were the first two, it just took us a bit to get into the thought process. The variety of puzzles was excellent and the walking distance covered was just right.
We have done other tabletop mystery kits, letterboxing, and geocaching. My family had talked about wanting to do an escape room sometime, but I was much happier to find an outdoor version!
It was fun to have a different way to experience Central Park, we have been there many times. It made us look more closely at things we have walked right past before. At one of the stops we saw another group with the box solving the puzzle too- it looked like they were having a good time!
I would definitely play one of your adventure games again!

More than a walk
Interactive and takes you through a good amount off the east side. Puzzles change and aren’t the same and it makes you search around.
NYC Manhattan: Central Park
NY Central Park
Amazing time through Central Park. Great Clues. We were unable to reach one section of the park and the game provided the information but we still needed to figure out the clue which I found creative (instead of just giving the answer). IT was a well-designed challenge that kept the college students fully engaged from the moment the we started to the final puzzle. They were laughing, collaborating, and enjoying every minute of the adventure, making it a standout group activity.
