The best DC escape room experience
About the escape room game
This escape room adventure around Adams Morgan takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in Washington, D.C. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around Adams Morgan to track down clues and crack the case!
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Washington, D.C. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our DC escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. Escapely's DC escape room begins with a call to help solve a murder. You must put on your detective hat and find clues and suspects around Adams Morgan. (The clues are in the real world, but the suspects are on our app.) You'll start by finding your first clue at the Adams Morgan community board. Then, you get to walk down 18th Street, which is the heart of DC's trendy and funky Adams Morgan neighborhood. Your next set of clues is at the sculpture garden outside the Marie H. Reed Recreation Center and then the game takes you to Kalorama Park and Champorama Park. We suggest ending up at Adams Morgan staple Madam's Organ to finish the game (and have a drink!) but you can choose any other place in the area. Adams Morgan is also known for its multicultural dining options, from Ethiopian to Vietnamese to falafel if you have time for dinner.

Tour guide and a game in a box!
A gift from my girlfriend that was fun for both of us! The game took us to a fun, fascinating, and colorful neighborhood of DC we probably never would have been to without this game box. The puzzles were engaging as it took us to different sites, and we took the time to stop at other interesting places we saw along the way. The game was also like a local tour guide! I definitely recommend for your next city daytrip.

Explore and Solve Puzzles
This was a great experience; excellent puzzles and an wonderful way to explore a bit more of the city. We definitely saw (and paid more attention to) things that we otherwise probably never would have come across.

Fun afternoon in Adams Morgan!
We had a blast with the Escapely adventure in Adams Morgan. I hadn’t really explored the area before, so it was fun walking around and discovering new places and things. We started with a delicious lunch at The Diner, as suggested, and even decided to finish the box there with a boozy milkshake. It took us a few hours in total, and I’d absolutely recommend it!

Unique, Fun, and Exciting Escape Game!
The outdoor escape room was fantastic! It was the perfect level of difficulty (we’ve done 35 traditional escape rooms) with puzzles for young and older members of our party to figure out! The real world aspect of this game was such a cool and new concept for us and really added to the excitement. The clues within the city were clear and easily accessible (we didn’t have to jump any fences and run from junkyard dogs thankfully, although that could be a fun addition to a sequel!).
We had ages from 9 to 50 and everyone really had a great time. The app experience was truly seamless and really exceeded our expectations. We loved the humor and critical thinking required also.
This is truly a fun and enjoyable afternoon out in the city that you really shouldn’t miss. It was 102 degrees in DC that day and we didn’t even care, because we were having so much fun. I would highly recommend the Adams Morgan version (we loved it so much we’ll be doing the Boston one next month) of this unique, fun, and creative idea!
