The best San Diego escape room experience
About the escape room game
This escape room adventure around Little Italy takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in San Diego. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around the pedestrian-friendly Little Italy area to track down clues and expose double agents!
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in San Diego. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our San Diego escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. In Escapely's San Diego escape room, you are a top secret spy tasked with exposing a ring of double agents threatening to take down the agency. We suggest starting near Amici Park so that you'll be close to your first clue stop. Clues are integrated with your surroundings, so in keeping with the Little Italy theme, some of your first clues are Italian recipes that you must find! As you crack codes and advance throughout the escape game, you'll also find clues at Piazza Basilone, a memorial to soldiers who died during the Korean War, and Piazza Giannini, honoring the founder of Bank of Italy which later became Bank of America. In the same area, you'll find the Little Italy street sign, which is a vibrant homage to this trendy (and delicious) San Diego neighborhood. You can also make your way to Waterfront Park to see the fountains and the beautiful water views. We suggest ending the game at the Little Italy Food Hall to enjoy some food and drink after the escape room, or while you finish the final puzzle. Or, choose another location in Little Italy.

A Puzzle Lover's City Exploration Dream!
I came across Escapely on Instagram and as an adventure and puzzle lover, was immediately interested. My partner and I went on a Saturday during the Little Italy farmer’s market and made a whole day of solving the puzzles and taking breaks to visit cafes and have lunch along the way! It was such a cool way to experience a more thorough exploration of one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in San Diego.
As for the puzzle itself, the clues and storyline were clever and well-thought-out but my favorite parts were the difficulty and hints. We were able to solve most of the puzzles on our own, but there were times that we needed a push in the right direction. I always find that escape room hints are too obvious rather than a gentle nudge, but Escapely’s hints are perfectly tiered; they start simple and get progressively more helpful.
I’ve recommended Escapely to all of my San Diego friends and can’t wait to explore other cities!

Great First Game Experience
This was our first time trying one of the outdoor escape room games in this series, and we had a blast! We weren’t sure what to expect, and as we went through, it was fun to see how the game interacted with the real world, including visits to long-standing landmarks, statues, and murals! The contents of the box and phone cues made the game interactive, and all the puzzles were a perfect level of challenging and fun. It took a few hours in total, and everything was walkable within the Little Italy area. Would definitely recommend!

Such A Great Date Night Adventure
We had so much fun doing this activity together. The combination of real life evidence (clues) and those included in the game were great and we really had to work together to figure out the solutions. Loved the component of using our phone as well. The puzzles were definitely challenging but the hints provided were there to help if needed. We definitely did not plan enough time. Next time we will take a whole day! We learned a lot about Little Italy. I have passed by many of the places before never taking the time to stop and learn about them. Midway through we stopped to eat! So many great restaurant choices! Plus music was being played at the last escapology destination! We would highly recommend this adventure!

Adventuresome day in Little Italy
Really enjoyed the game. Found everything and had fun doing so. My nephew LOVES a particular play and guessed a clue just by the reference. He was so jazzed. We loved learning some history!
Thanks for a fun day
