The best Indianapolis escape room experience

About the escape room game

This escape room adventure around Mile Square in downtown Indianapolis takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in Indianapolis. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around Indy to track down ghosts and reunite two star-crossed lovers!

This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Indianapolis. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Indianapolis escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way.

Escapely's Indy escape room starts off at Monument Circle to visit the iconic Soldiers & Sailors Monument, a tribute to the Union soldiers who fought for Indiana during the Civil War. This 284-foot-tall limestone monument has come to symbolize Indianapolis and the entire state of Indiana. You'll search the area for clues found on statues around the monument, but if you have time, you can climb to the top for an incredible view of downtown Indy!

The next part of the outdoor escape room will take you to down the street to explore some of the shops and restaurants in downtown Indy - and you'll be looking for clues while you walk! Then you'll head to the Indiana State Museum, which we recommend coming back to explore if you don't have time while you play. From art to architecture to history its changing exhibits take you on a journey through Indiana's past and present. During the Indianapolis escape room game, you'll head to the gorgeous canal by the back in search of more clues and puzzles. To close out your experience, you might want to head to Mass Ave, downtown Indy's nightlife hotspot. It's close to where you started the game (and possibly where you parked) and has many restaurants and bars to explore!

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you are a serious escape room enthusiast. It would be like playing an escape room that has the same storyline and similar puzzles, but with different clues available. Because the clues are integrated throughout Mile Square in downtown Indianapolis, the clues themselves are different from all other Relic games. But the puzzles will feel very familiar.
Mile Square is bustling, fun, and historic. It's the one-square-mile plot of land originally planned for downtown Indianapolis, and it's packed full of entertainment, architecture, and history. It's walkable and you'll get to see monuments, museums, shops, restaurants, and more along the escape room path. Massachusetts Avenue is the thriving nightlife scene in Downtown Indianapolis and will not disappoint. It's not far from the escape room and a great place to celebrate your escape!
It's both! In a traditional escape room you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next, with clues in the real world. It's one of the best things to do in Indianapolis!
There are garages, lots, and street parking all over downtown Indianapolis. The escape room starts near Monument Circle and ends near the Indiana State Museum. You can choose to park somewhere in the middle, or if you want to check out Massachusetts Ave afterward, park near Monument Circle.
There are no indoor clues in our Indianapolis escape room game. Everything is publicly accessible.
It's a self-guided adventure around downtown Indy for couples, families, individuals, friend groups, and anyone else looking for a fun thing to do in Indianapolis!
