Open your clue box near the RiverWalk to begin your adventure.
Begin solving using anything you see in the box. Scan the QR code to input your solution and find out where to go.
Search for real-world clues hidden around Milwaukee and use them to solve puzzles. When you input the correct code, the app will tell you where to go and what to do!
If you get stuck, the no-download app has as many hints as you need. It also has storyline, videos, and more.

So much fun!

THAT WAS REALLY GREAT GROUP FUN!!!

An outdoor escape room adventure??? Ok, you checked the “”cool idea”” box, but what about the venue, and the game itself?
The venue is Milwaukee’s RiverWalk, which turned out to be a beautiful setting with a lot of neat history. Really really fun — this was an infinitely better venue than any “”game room”” we’ve ever visited.
And the game? Really, really fun because it was extremely well thought out and well put together. For starters, it’s entirely self-paced. There is no ticking clock, no pressure, which is often a downer in a lot of escape room adventures. Solve each riddle as slowly or as quickly as you wish; take all afternoon if you like. THAT was a big plus. The kit — a box of clues and materials you’re given to start the game — was very well put together and is used throughout the game. There were, I think, six or seven different “”stages”” – moving from one location to another to solve the next stage. We found the course to be extremely challenging, but it was also clear that any experience level can solve it.
The online component (you’re going to need your smartphones!) was REALLY well done. Need a hint? Here you go — but they’re not giving it away. You might call the first one “”hint light”” for experts. Not enough? Ask for more. You take what you need, like bites at the apple, all the way up to “”Ok, here’s the answer…””, but they’re not handing it to you unless you ask for it.
The way the online component is put together — is the best part of an outstanding experience. If you want to be challenged, solving each riddle on your own, go for it. If you’re breaking, starting to argue with each other or getting ready to throw your phone in the river, take a hint. Or two. We did, a bunch. If you’re a first-time group and you’re mystified by the complex and often maddening clue structure of a good “”escape”” experience, you’re going to learn a lot, have fun, get the hang of it, and by the time you finish you’ll still be successful even if you have to take a few mulligans to get there.
If you’re a large group, this is still an excellent experience. They limit you to 6 players in a group, and it turns out there’s a good reason for that. We were more than 6 and we were not really keen on having to split up. However, it was a VERY good thing they made us get two kits because there is a lot of important material in each box.
This was a great experience, really well thought out and put together.

Had a blast

This was a blast to do. The puzzles were just hard enough without being impossible. The hints were good. The walking was just the right amount. The area was beautiful and fun to explore. The story was intriguing and fun. I wish there were more games to do in the area.

This escape room adventure around the RiverWalk in Milwaukee takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in Milwaukee. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around the RiverWalk to track down ghosts and reunite two star-crossed lovers!

This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Milwaukee. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Milwaukee escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way.

Escapely's Milwaukee outdoor escape room starts off on a beautiful bridge connecting Riverwalk West and Riverwalk East. It's a great spot to take some pictures for memories...or for the gram. Next, you'll check out the Pabst Theater, which happens to be the fourth oldest theater in the entire US (it's also a beautiful historical landmark worthy of a picture).

The next part of our Milwaukee escape room takes you to Père Marquette Park. It's small, but right on the river and full of greenery and trees. You'll spend about 20 minutes in the park while you search for clues and evaluate evidence. Your final clue will take you by the Usinger's Famous Sausage building. It's somewhat of an institution, creating a large variety of German smoked meats. And if you finish your Milwaukee escape room around dinner time, the RiverWalk area has loads of food and drink options - in fact, our game app even recommends a spot to go when you complete the escape room!

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you are a serious escape room enthusiast. It would be like playing an escape room that has the same storyline and similar puzzles, but with different clues available. Because the clues are integrated throughout Milwaukee, the clues themselves are different from all other Relic games. But the puzzles will feel very familiar.

The RiverWalk is the perfect spot for an outdoor escape adventure around Milwaukee because of its stunning views of the city and the river. It's very walkable and the entire escape room takes place within walking distance. Along the way you'll pass public art like murals and sculptures. There are also plenty of photo ops whether you're with family or friends.

It's both! In a traditional escape room you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next, with clues in the real world. It's one of the best things to do in Milwaukee!

There is street parking available near the RiverWalk and also public garages in the Historic Third Ward and downtown.
