The best Detroit escape room experience
About the escape room game
This escape room adventure around downtown Detroit takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in Detroit. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around downtown Detroit to track down clues and expose double agents!
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Detroit. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our downtown Detroit escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. In Escapely's Detroit escape room, you are a top secret spy tasked with exposing a ring of double agents threatening to take down the agency. We suggest starting near the Spirit of Detroit Plaza, an outdoor event space where everyone in Detroit can enjoy fun and entertainment. The first stop is the International Memorial to the Underground Railroad. Not only is it an important historical marker, but it sits on the Detroit riverwalk. It's peaceful, scenic, and romantic. If you're in the mood for some exercise, you can rent bikes and ride up and down, and if you're with kids you can even walk down to the carousel! The next clue will be found at the Transcending Monument in Hart Plaza, which honors the Detroit labor movement. You'll continue on to the UAW-Ford Joint Trusts Center, the Penobscot Building, the Detroit City Club apartments, and Harmonie Park. We suggest ending the game at Campus Martius Park, which always has a handful food trucks on hand. If none of those suit your fancy and you have worked up an appetite, there are many restaurants in walking distance.

So worth it
We had an amazing time! It was so cool how much of the landmarks and monuments we actually had to use to figure out the clues. And we love that the hints still let you figure things out, it doesn’t just give you the answer obviously. We used this on our trip to Detroit and it has been a highlight of the trip so far! A very well thought out game, we’ll be looking into the other locations when we go on other trips in the future.

A Genius Outdoor Escape Experience!
This virtual escape room puzzle game was absolutely amazing! I loved how there were so many cool puzzles to solve all around the city. I played with my mom. We were both born and raised in Detroit and we love downtown. There were so many amazing landmarks for us to visit and spectacular puzzles for us to solve. We felt like real spies. Using the kit provided and our phones, we had a great time getting to the bottom of the mystery at hand. In addition to the amazing puzzles, we also appreciated how everything was situated. The layout of the game was genius. We were afraid we’d need bikes or something at least, but it was not bad to walk. The day we chose had particularly lovely weather and we were able to take a nice stroll and make it to each destination without taxing effort.
The concept of this puzzle game was amazing. I was impressed by how well the puzzles were integrated into actual Detroit landmarks and real-life signs, art pieces, and other fixtures. God bless the creators of this puzzle. Words truly cannot express how much fun we had!
If you are planning on embarking upon the mission, I would suggest you do so on a nice day with pleasant weather. Dress appropriately so that you don’t become too hot or too cold. Also, wear comfortable shoes, as you will do a bit of walking. We did have to stop by a restroom and get something to drink because we did this in summer time, but the whole process was smooth. It made for a wonderfully memorable day.
