It’s your first day as Elixir Emporium’s new potionmaster. But to get the job you had to…well, exaggerate a bit on your resume. Turns out magic might not be as easy as you hoped. Can you brew potions and cast spells to undo the damage you’ve done? Search for clues, solve puzzles, and explore Seattle on this unforgettable outdoor escape room adventure!

Open your clue box anywhere in or near Seattle Center to start your adventure.
Begin solving using anything you see in the box. Scan the QR code to input your solution and find out where to go.
Search for real-world clues hidden around Seattle and use them to solve puzzles. When you input the correct code, the app will tell you where to go and what to do!
If you get stuck, the no-download app has as many hints as you need. It also has storyline, videos, and more.
Play at your own pace. There's no penalty for hints and no one gets timed out.

PLAYING TIME: 1.5-3 hours depending on experience level and how much you eat, drink, and explore along the way
WALKING DISTANCE: About a half mile around Seattle Center
PLAYERS PER BOX: We suggest 2-6 so that everyone can share the clues, but it's completely up to you. You can even play alone!
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Adjustable. There's no penalty for hints, so you can take them frequently or challenge yourself.

Great Escape Room x Scavenger Hunt

Fun puzzles set around Seattle Center. Hint system is nice. We started at the armory and it was difficult to watch the videos there, but the transcripts were useful. The adhesive on the envelops can be tough, so maybe have something that can open letters handy.

Great for families

Two moms took four children, ranging in age from 9 to 11. The kids all loved it and it was a great way to get them out of the house! There was brain activity in solving the puzzles (they had to use most of the “hints” but could solve with some prodding), physically activity in running from one real world hint to the next, and social emotional learning in trying to give everyone turns to solve the puzzles with out spoiling it! I highly recommend for anyone looking for something fun to do with their kids!

Fabulous outdoor escape rooms

We had a wonderful day. The difficulty level was perfect. I’m very impressed with the game creators and how they were able to use Seattle Center’s artwork, structures and buildings into the game. That was my favorite aspect. Especially on a beautiful sunny day, it was a wonderful way to spend time with our two sons (age 21 and 23) and they loved it as well. Already planning to get the ones in the next towns we’ll be traveling to for family visits in Chicago and San Diego.

In this outdoor escape room in Seattle, you are not confined to a room. Instead, this Escapely adventure takes you on a scavenger hunt, uncovering hidden clues around Seattle’s top spots.

This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Seattle. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure around Seattle Center to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Seattle escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way.

In Escapely's Seattle escape room, you are the potionmaster for a day at Florian's Elixir Emporium. After a spell gone wrong, you must create potions, handle customers, and find the right ingredients to fix the mess you caused! Your first clue is at Rabbit Rabbit Tea, a boba tea shop that even includes a discount for Escapely players! Then you will get to visit Climate Pledge Arena, developed for the 1962 World's Fair. While there, take a closer look at the sculpture La Diab Pish, which depicts the Pacific Giant Octopus. You will also visit an art installation featuring the Lushootseed language spoken by the Duwamish tribe. The Duwamish are the original inhabitants of the Seattle area, and they are still a thriving and active part of Seattle culture to this day.

Your next clues will take you to the park near the Armory building and to the Fisher Pavilion. The Fisher Pavilion is beautiful and often used for wedding receptions and other fancy affairs. It's a beautiful place to spend some time, especially when searching for escape room clues. The final stop on this adventure is the Neototems Children's Garden. Seattle Center is an incredible place to explore. If you have time, we highly suggest stopping in to see the Chihuly Garden and Glass to see the beautiful glass art. And if you have never been, a trip up the Space Needle (right in the vicinity of the game) is truly breathtaking.

However, you will find that the puzzles will feel familiar. That said, we do have escape room enthusiasts who enjoy playing the various adventures offered in different cities. So, it is entirely up to you.

Seattle Center makes for an excellent escape room location because it features iconic attractions like the Space Needle and Pike’s Place Market. Plus, it is very walkable! While you are playing our Seattle outdoor escape room adventure, you can discover more about the rich culture of this stunning location! For instance, you can explore elements of the Duwamish language at one point. Not only that, but you can also enjoy some poetry, visit local shops, and even take a break while sipping bubble tea. (If you like! You can still complete the game without buying anything.) If you have time after your outdoor escape room game, the Space Needle, with its revolving glass floor, offers a 360-degree tour of Seattle. For those with kids, the Artists at Play playground is also a must-see. But there is so much more to discover in Seattle Center that is not even part of the game!

Technically, it’s both! This Seattle outdoor escape room works like a classic escape room AND a scavenger hunt. You see, in a traditional escape game, you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City, you need to look for clues hidden around Seattle Center and solve succeeding puzzles in order to finish the adventure.

You can use a car or the light rail to get to the outdoor escape room. Fortunately, there is plenty of parking in the Seattle Center, so you can easily park in the area. If there are no spots available, you can also park anywhere near the center since the game is well-contained in the area. If you opt for the light rail, you should note that the stop is only five minutes away.

You will need to go inside, but only for one clue inside a local business. Note: You are not required to make a purchase to finish the adventure (though we do recommend grabbing a drink). To find the clue, you just need to enter the establishment. All other clues are outside and publicly accessible!

Anyone can play Escape the City! After all, it is a self-guided adventure for all ages, so couples, families, individuals, and friend groups can enjoy this adventure around Seattle.
