The Best Outdoor Escape Room Experience in New York City
Outdoor Escape Room NYC
This outdoor escape room adventure around Central Park takes the best parts of an escape room and a scavenger hunt and combines them into the most fun thing to do in NYC. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, an Escapely adventure takes you around New York City's famous Central Park, starting near the 79th Street entrance on the Upper East Side.
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Manhattan. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure around Central Park to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our NYC escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. Escapely's New York escape room begins with an invitation to the Queen of Heart's royal tea party - but you quickly learn that the Queen has cursed Alice and all of Wonderland, and it's up to you to break that curse. We suggest starting on the Met steps where you have some space to sit down and solve. As you crack codes and advance throughout the escape game, you'll find clues at Greywacke Arch, Belvedere Castle, and the Shakespeare Garden. A fun stretch of the game takes you through the Ramble, a wooded part of Central Park. Then you'll cross Bow Bridge and continue to Bethesda Fountain and Bethesda Terrace. Finally, of course, since the theme of our New York escape room game is Alice in Wonderland, you'll get to visit the Alice in Wonderland statue by the Central Park boat pond. If you play with kids, they will probably want to stop and climb on the statue. This is a popular spot for proposals and as a matter of fact, we have had several players propose right here after finishing the game! If you didn't stop to have a picnic along the way, this is a perfect spot to end the game.

NY Central Park
Amazing time through Central Park. Great Clues. We were unable to reach one section of the park and the game provided the information but we still needed to figure out the clue which I found creative (instead of just giving the answer). IT was a well-designed challenge that kept the college students fully engaged from the moment the we started to the final puzzle. They were laughing, collaborating, and enjoying every minute of the adventure, making it a standout group activity.

Fun exploring Central Park
This was such a wonderful experience. None of the clues were too tricky but still challenging. A great interface with the story, the technology, and the real world. Allowed us to discover a familiar park with new eyes.

Very well!
Very well put together, fun for 2 adults and a 12 year old to complete! Directions were good for unfamiliar territory and we loved the fun facts sprinkled through the clues! Made exploring the park fun for us and we loved we could go at our own pace! Highly recommend!

great experience
We absolutely loved this game. My main issue is that I wish there were more games in our city!! We really loved the variety of riddles/games (like turn left, turn right, enter the name here etc) and also the variety of difficulty. Truly 10/10 and upset I can’t play more in our city!

Fun date experience
We had a great time, and felt really challenged! This was a gift to us. We were interested in scavenger hunts and were so excited to test ourselves. Our favorite part was traveling to different spots that we have not been before. It really gave us a sense of Central Park even though we’ve been living here for 2+ years. Thank you!
