A Very Fun and Unique Activity

What fun this was to do with my family! I can’t wait to do another! It was well done and a joy to walk around Little Italy on a Saturday morning during the farmer’s market. We loved the mystery and working together to solve the clues with real world things to see was a challenge but very rewarding when we finished.

    Escape to Little Italy!

This is a great way to explore Little Italy! We started it while we were waiting for our table at Morning Glory and then finished after we ate. It’s great because you can do it on your own timeline. I definitely wanted to spend more time in Little Italy as there were places I never would have seen without doing Escapely. So many great restaurants that we went by that I’d like to try now.

It took us a bit to get started and to understand the clues, but once we got going it was easier. The hints definitely helped when we got stuck and we never felt frustrated.

It was myself and my 20+ year old sons and girlfriend. It took us a couple hours. I was in a boot and could manage, but there is some walking to it. We all really liked it and would definitely do it again in another city.

    Such a fun experience!

I really recommend the Escape The City – I’d gotten it as a gift for my hubby for Christmas and we had a blast doing it together. Not going to lie, there were some clues that were tough and we had to use several hints, but overall we did pretty good, and had a great time together on a day date. I had to contact customer service when my shipment went missing after purchase, and they were very helpful as well. I recommend this as a gift, a couple’s or family. experience.

Great puzzle hunt for an afternoon with friends

Great puzzle hunt for an afternoon with friends, and a good excuse to walk around San Diego. The clues and props were really well done. We especially enjoyed how things in the environment were used to solve the puzzles. Great fun for small groups who enjoy puzzles and escape rooms!

The best San Diego escape room experience

About the escape room game

This escape room adventure around Little Italy takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in San Diego. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around the pedestrian-friendly Little Italy area to track down clues and expose double agents!

This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in San Diego. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our San Diego escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way.

In Escapely's San Diego escape room, you are a top secret spy tasked with exposing a ring of double agents threatening to take down the agency. We suggest starting near Amici Park so that you'll be close to your first clue stop. Clues are integrated with your surroundings, so in keeping with the Little Italy theme, some of your first clues are Italian recipes that you must find! As you crack codes and advance throughout the escape game, you'll also find clues at Piazza Basilone, a memorial to soldiers who died during the Korean War, and Piazza Giannini, honoring the founder of Bank of Italy which later became Bank of America.

In the same area, you'll find the Little Italy street sign, which is a vibrant homage to this trendy (and delicious) San Diego neighborhood. You can also make your way to Waterfront Park to see the fountains and the beautiful water views. We suggest ending the game at the Little Italy Food Hall to enjoy some food and drink after the escape room, or while you finish the final puzzle. Or, choose another location in Little Italy.

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you are a serious escape room enthusiast. It would be like playing an escape room that has the same storyline and similar puzzles, but with different clues available. Because the clues are integrated within downtown San Diego, the clues are different than all other spyhunter games. But the puzzles will feel familiar.
An outdoor escape room takes the excitement of escape room games into the real world. Unlike traditional indoor escape rooms, you’re not confined to a single space. Instead, you'll explore Little Italy in San Diego. Teams work together to solve puzzles, crack codes, and complete challenges in order to win and "escape." It’s an immersive puzzle adventure that gets you outdoors, blending the best aspects of escape rooms with a scavenger hunt-style exploration through the lively streets of Little Italy, San Diego.
Little Italy is a trendy, exciting, and delicious part of San Diego. It is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in San Diego, which is perfect for Escape the City. The area is small and it's packed full of restaurants, bars, and cafes begging to be patronized. After finishing the escape room, we certainly recommend sticking around to try it out! You will also want to wander by Piazza della Famiglia, with a tile fountain in the middle, which will make you forget you are still in San Diego!
It's both! In a traditional escape room you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next, with clues in the real world. It's one of the best things to do in Little Italy!
The outdoor escape room takes place in Little Italy, which is a very small area. Anywhere in or near Little Italy will be convenient. You will walk about a mile from start to finish and your first clue is near Amici park.
There are no indoor clues in our San Diego escape room game. Everything is publicly accessible.
It's a self-guided adventure around San Diego's Little Italy for couples, families, individuals, friend groups, and anyone else looking for a fun thing to do in Little Italy.
