    Great fun!!!

    We live in Houston and this was a really fun deviation to normal life.. and it made me stop and look around the city and notice a few things i never have. The storyline is a bit silly but the puzzles and delivery of the story was top of the line professional. This is not a back-of-garage product. The whole adventure took us about three hours and that was with a couple beers along the way. The adventure kept us moving but the amount of walking was super reasonable, even in hot weather. I can’t wait to try out adventures in other cities too!!

    Outdoor Family Fun

    It was fun – we did it with two adults and two older teens (17 & 18.5). Only one snag – the information for the 2nd clue was missing from the in-person venue. I asked for a hint and then had to ask for the answer on that one.
    The rest of the clues were just challenging enough to be fun, and we didn’t need any more hints. Our family loves solving puzzles and playing strategy board games.
    I loved how it had us wandering the streets of Houston – we saw quite a bit of beautiful street art in addition to the parts that you incorporated.
    Favorite part: I honestly loved that it had us traversing the outdoors in our own city in a different way. Maybe explain that more than one person can be scanning the codes and following the clues… that definitely helped. AND it was a great way to spend the day using technology to do things, but it not being the focus.

    The escape game was great. We really liked the different puzzles and the material in the box. We had no technical problems and easily understood what we needed to do despite English not being our language. It was really great and we’ll definitely do it in another city like Austin or Dallas!

    GO GET THIS KINDA FUN!!

    We really loved this!! We found it somewhat difficult, but I’ve only done this once before and it was in a room! Having this outside was genius!! Our favorite was the pillar and the sculpture! The whole thing was orchestrated amazingly, and we had a blast!! We will definitely do this again!! Thanks for the opportunity to have this much fun!!

    This was so fun! Very creative and the puzzles were challenging but not too challenging. I love how we found clues in real world spots and even the walking was the perfect amount. This was well thought out and fun- great job, creators🙂

Escapely's Houston escape room begins with an appeal from the Mayor to help track down notorious outlaw Magnolia Mae, who has been terrorizing the townsfolk. As the new Sheriff in town, you'll need to work quickly to take down the outlaw and restore order. Your adventure starts at The Understory, an underground food hall with big open stairs where you can sit to solve puzzles. Your next clue is the Miro sculpture "Personage and Birds" in Houston's JPMorgan Chase Tower plaza. You will also get to stop by Moonshiners, a rustic bar and restaurant that serves Southern fare. Many players stop here for a bite to eat before continuing!

Next you head to Main Street to look for a clue outside of a building. Main Street is worth checking out anyway, with many shops, bars, and restaurants. It's the epicenter of Downtown Houston. Our Houston escape room ends at the historic Market Square Park, the site of the original City Hall - fitting for this escape room's theme. If you're with kids, there are other Downtown Houston attractions worth checking out afterward, such as the Aquarium. Discovery Green is also nearby with 12 acres of park space, green areas, and even a skating rink.

However, Downtown Houston is completely walkable, making it the perfect place for an outdoor escape room adventure. In addition, vacant storefronts on Main Street have been transformed through color and bold design, thanks to Art Blocks Houston. Technically, it is both! In a traditional escape room, you solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or multiple rooms). In Escape the City, you solve puzzles that lead from one to another, with clues scattered throughout Downtown Houston!
There is plenty of parking available in Downtown Houston. If you want to park near the first clue, we suggest finding a lot close to the JPMorgan Chase Tower. Otherwise, any spot in Downtown Houston will work. The METRORail also runs right down Main Street.
One clue is located indoors (but not inside a specific business), and another clue is within a business. You will not need to make a purchase (though we do recommend trying the food!). Just step inside to find the clue. All other clues are outdoors and accessible to the public!
Anyone can play Escape The City since it is a self-guided adventure through Downtown Houston. Couples, families, individuals, friend groups, or those looking for a fun activity in Houston are welcome to enjoy!
