The Best Outdoor Escape Room Experience in Downtown Houston, TX
Outdoor Escape Room Houston
This outdoor escape room adventure around Downtown Houston merges the best parts of an escape room and a scavenger hunt to create the most fun activity in Houston. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, an Escapely adventure takes you to find clues around Downtown Houston.
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Houston. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure around Downtown Houston to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Houston escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. Escapely's Houston escape room begins with an appeal from the Mayor to help track down notorious outlaw Magnolia Mae, who has been terrorizing the townsfolk. As the new Sheriff in town, you'll need to work quickly to take down the outlaw and restore order. Your adventure starts at The Understory, an underground food hall with big open stairs where you can sit to solve puzzles. Your next clue is the Miro sculpture "Personage and Birds" in Houston's JPMorgan Chase Tower plaza. You will also get to stop by Moonshiners, a rustic bar and restaurant that serves Southern fare. Many players stop here for a bite to eat before continuing! Next you head to Main Street to look for a clue outside of a building. Main Street is worth checking out anyway, with many shops, bars, and restaurants. It's the epicenter of Downtown Houston. Our Houston escape room ends at the historic Market Square Park, the site of the original City Hall - fitting for this escape room's theme. If you're with kids, there are other Downtown Houston attractions worth checking out afterward, such as the Aquarium. Discovery Green is also nearby with 12 acres of park space, green areas, and even a skating rink.

Super fun escape room and walking tour in one!
This is a super fun adventure box! It’s basically escape room puzzles and a walking tour wrapped up in one tailored to the city itself—it’s not just generic puzzles but is instead full of the quirks of the city itself. I’ve lived downtown for about ten years but I still learned a bunch of cool things about my neighborhood and got my steps in at the same time.

We were positively blown away by an amazing, unique, and high quality experience.
I bought the Escapely outdoor escape room box on a whim, and were pleasantly surprised; we had an absolute blast and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I had no idea what to expect, but we were really impressed by the quality of the puzzles and of the build quality of the components in the box.
I like the hint system, and how they progressively get more helpful and cover a wide variety of circumstances. For instance, for one puzzle we didn’t necessarily want any hints, we just couldn’t find the real-world object, so I like how there’s an option to just show you what you’re looking for if you struggle to find it without spoiling the puzzle itself. It felt like we were on an actual adventure, going from one puzzle to the next and piecing together this fun narrative. We had some great “”ah-ha!”” moments when we discovered something. We felt so smart and cool when we figured it out. It was a pretty unique moment to have with friends.
We have nothing but positive things to say about the quality of the components inside the box, and the puzzles were super clever and unique. I really like how there’s a story that ties the whole thing together—in this case, you’re rushing to catch an outlaw on the lose. While the narrative won’t blow you away with its depth, it’s perfect for this sort of thing.
Thank you for providing my friends and I such a fun evening in Houston!

A super fun and engaging way to explore a city!
My friend and I did this together for our first visit to Houston, and wanted to tour the city without it feeling like a boring typical tour. We had a blast, it was exactly what we wanted! We got to know the city, have fun, and go at our own pace. We made a fun day of it by doing little stops here and there for drinks along the way. The clues were fun, not too easy and not too hard. It’s the style you get at a regular indoor escape room, but much more fun being outside! The cool part too was once you would get to the next stop and solve the clue, it also gave you a little blurb of history of the place you were at. So you were seeing and learning about the city in a fun and unique way! I would definitely do it again in another city!
