The best Kansas City escape room experience
About the escape room game
This escape room adventure around the Garment District takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in Kansas City. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around Kansas City to track down clues and crack the case!
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Kansas City. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on Escapely's Kansas City escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. In Escapely's Kansas City escape room, you're a detective tasked with solving a mysterious murder. You must find clues and track suspects around the Garment District. (The clues are in the real world, but the suspects are on our app.) The Garment District is full of Kansas City history and players will get to experience much of it while playing. The game begins at the Graphic Arts Lofts, housed inside the historic Graphic Arts Building which was once used for commercial printing. From there, travel to the Kansas City Library's community bookshelf, which consists of 25-foot high books on the side of a parking structure. The titles of the 22 volumes shown were chosen by a community vote. The escape room will also take you to the Lewis and Clark: Corps of Discovery Statue, which stands on a spot Lewis and Clark noted would be a commanding location for a fort. Later in the game, you get to visit the historic Savoy Hotel, now called Savoy at 21c after an extensive renovation. The new owners made sure to keep the historical murals and you can now go see them surrounding the bar. This outdoor escape room is the perfect way to explore this historic neighborhood in downtown Kansas City and learn a little about Kansas City's garment center roots.

So much fun
We had an absolute blast. It helped that there were some bars in the area. We made a day out of it, and would stop in a bar and have a few beers while we figured out the clue. We did need to get hints at the beginning, until we learned what to expect from the clues.

Fun day exploring with friends
We had an absolute blast! I thought it was a great way to explore an area that was new to me in KC. I played with a group of 5 people. For us, the difficulty was exactly what I wanted for the experience – required some thought but not so difficult that we couldn’t keep things moving or have fun with it! I hope to play again in another city soon!

New Kind of Family Fun--Even for Teens
Finding things to do that are fun for the entire family is difficult, but Escapely’s outdoor escape room checked all the boxes. My family (two adults and two teens) all enjoyed the puzzles and thought the game had a pretty good difficulty level: hard enough to stay challenged, but not so hard to be frustrated (and the hints helped us get through the more difficult puzzles). Plus we got to wander through part of the city we wouldn’t normally frequent, and learn a little KC history along the way. We liked it so much that we bought another one for my niece and nephews to do when they’re in town.

Fun exploration
We had a great time exploring the city and solving the murder! We’ve been to KC before but saw some new places and learned a ton about the city too.
