The Best Outdoor Escape Room Experience in New York City
Outdoor Escape Room NYC
This outdoor escape room adventure around Central Park takes the best parts of an escape room and a scavenger hunt and combines them into the most fun thing to do in NYC. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, an Escapely adventure takes you around New York City's famous Central Park, starting near the 79th Street entrance on the Upper East Side.
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Manhattan. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure around Central Park to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our NYC escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. Escapely's New York escape room begins with an invitation to the Queen of Heart's royal tea party - but you quickly learn that the Queen has cursed Alice and all of Wonderland, and it's up to you to break that curse. We suggest starting on the Met steps where you have some space to sit down and solve. As you crack codes and advance throughout the escape game, you'll find clues at Greywacke Arch, Belvedere Castle, and the Shakespeare Garden. A fun stretch of the game takes you through the Ramble, a wooded part of Central Park. Then you'll cross Bow Bridge and continue to Bethesda Fountain and Bethesda Terrace. Finally, of course, since the theme of our New York escape room game is Alice in Wonderland, you'll get to visit the Alice in Wonderland statue by the Central Park boat pond. If you play with kids, they will probably want to stop and climb on the statue. This is a popular spot for proposals and as a matter of fact, we have had several players propose right here after finishing the game! If you didn't stop to have a picnic along the way, this is a perfect spot to end the game.

Perfect Date Idea!
My wife and I did this adventure in the summer and it ended up being the perfect summer date!
First about the box and materials, it feels well thought out and designed and high quality. All of the cards feel like memeto worthy to save. It is also not huge, so carrying it around wasn’t a problem.
The clues themsevles exist in the perfect balance between being too hard or easy. Some of them required thought and exploring, which made the whole process even more exciting. There are also hints for when you get super stuck, which is a nice safety net.
If you are not in a rush, this box leads you to places that allow you to easily extend the day or take breaks. That was an added bonus. My wife knows Central Park well and still had an absolute blast.
My favorite part about this was that it was self paced. At the time, my wife was pregnant, so us taking a break at any moment was never an issue.
I genuinely hope to see more of these locally so that we can adventure to another area!

Really Fun!!
The Central Park game really surpassed my expectations! Really fun time, good for tourists and locals alike. Make sure you pick a day with nice weather, not too hot or cold and you will definitely enjoy your time

DO IT! So fun, great way to explore your own or a new town.
We are half joking about traveling to the other escapely cities just to do them.
Difficulty level was perfect, we tried not to use any hints to make it harder but loved the way hints were also given if needed. We took 3 hours going slow and enjoying the park, we also ran into another couple doing it and they helped us with a clue haha.
I loved that we were able to bring our dog along! We also loved how interactive the clues were with the surroundings. I grew up in NYC and have seen most of it but never the Shakespeare Garden, or the actual words in Hans Christian Anderson statue’s book, or noticed the owl and monkeys on the gate by the bears.
The clue envelopes are super glued together so just be careful opening it. We didn’t write on anything (used my Notes app instead) and can easily regift it to a friend to play.

Fun afternoon in the park
We were 5 friends playing together. It was part of my birthday weekend and we had a great time playing it. The tasks weren’t too difficult and the puzzles not too hard to solve. Just the perfect mix.
We got to see new places in Central Park and looked at familiar ones differently.
Thank you escapely for this great experience.

We loved it…
We had a really good time with this. We explored places of the park we’ve never been to and that was awesome. The hints in the app were great and helpful. Easy to use and figure out. Ages of players we had were 12,13,43,47, and 48 and the kids were able to figure out alot of it so definitely kid friendly. If you love escape games you will love this. The only thing we didn’t like from this box was a clue that led to a deli. It was kind of hard to navigate through the store with actual customers trying to shop and trying to not disturb their merchandise looking for clues. After a while we just used all the hints for that one just so we wouldn’t have to spend a lot of time in the store. Don’t want to give anything away, so overall, we’d get another box for a different city. It was fun. Thanks for creating this game. Also, this comes with a necklace that turned our son’s neck green by the end of the day lol… don’t wear the necklace while walking around in the heat haha. This took us about 3 hours to complete and that includes water breaks and bathroom breaks and light snacks. Definitely recommend.
