The Best Outdoor Escape Room Experience in New York City
Outdoor Escape Room NYC
This outdoor escape room adventure around Central Park takes the best parts of an escape room and a scavenger hunt and combines them into the most fun thing to do in NYC. You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, an Escapely adventure takes you around New York City's famous Central Park, starting near the 79th Street entrance on the Upper East Side.
This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Manhattan. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure around Central Park to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our NYC escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. Escapely's New York escape room begins with an invitation to the Queen of Heart's royal tea party - but you quickly learn that the Queen has cursed Alice and all of Wonderland, and it's up to you to break that curse. We suggest starting on the Met steps where you have some space to sit down and solve. As you crack codes and advance throughout the escape game, you'll find clues at Greywacke Arch, Belvedere Castle, and the Shakespeare Garden. A fun stretch of the game takes you through the Ramble, a wooded part of Central Park. Then you'll cross Bow Bridge and continue to Bethesda Fountain and Bethesda Terrace. Finally, of course, since the theme of our New York escape room game is Alice in Wonderland, you'll get to visit the Alice in Wonderland statue by the Central Park boat pond. If you play with kids, they will probably want to stop and climb on the statue. This is a popular spot for proposals and as a matter of fact, we have had several players propose right here after finishing the game! If you didn't stop to have a picnic along the way, this is a perfect spot to end the game.

Had a blast
My brother has lived in NYC for 14 years. And while doing it he said, “I have never been to this part of the park”
It’s a fun way to scope out the city and make an adventure out of it. Super fun and the fact that you don’t have a time limit allows you the opportunity to actually experience what you’re seeing without worrying about not finishing the puzzle. Highly recommend

Unique Must-Try Experience!
What a unique and rewarding experience, HIGHLY recommended! We are escape room fanatics and we were definitely excited about the prospect of a similar vibe but out in the wild exploring our city. I have to say Escapely exceeded all of our expectations. Along with thought-provoking puzzles and an engaging story line, the amount of detail put into the design made us appreciate and see our city in a totally different light. The scavenger hunt/escape room hybrid was a blast and made for a really fun date night. That said, I can see this being a really great family outing as well. We can’t wait to travel and try more of the cities they offer. Nothing else quite like it!!

We loved it, I played with my gf, her brother, and his gf. We found the level to be easy, and we only used the hint on the very last one where we needed to type in HER. Our favorite part was the ones where we got to interact with the surroundings and the park statues. I wished there was more in NYC and we’ll look to buy the other cities if/when we travel there.

A Unique Way to Explore Central Park
My best friends were visiting NY. I was trying to find budget-friendly ways to explore the city and saw this on Instagram. Honestly, it was a ton of fun. It had the puzzle solving elements of an escape room, but allowed you to explore the best parts of Central Park at your leisure. My friends and I stopped for snacks along the way and a few photo opps. We could’ve finished the game in a couple hours, but we stretched it through the afternoon to enjoy ourselves. I felt good and exercised (mind & body) by the time I got home. My friends loved it and even want to do one in another city!

Great fun!
Escapely Central Park was a lot of fun with friends! The difficulty level of the puzzles to solve was just right; we had to use clues twice. It’s really well thought through and took us to nice parts of central park. To keep everyone involved, I would probably recommend to do it in a group of 2-4 people. I’d love to play it in other locations. Hope they keep including more destinations.
