If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Seattle escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way. In Escapely's Seattle escape room, you are the potionmaster for a day at Florian's Elixir Emporium. After a spell gone wrong, you must create potions, handle customers, and find the right ingredients to fix the mess you caused! Your first clue is at Rabbit Rabbit Tea, a boba tea shop that even includes a discount for Escapely players! Then you will get to visit Climate Pledge Arena, developed for the 1962 World's Fair. While there, take a closer look at the sculpture La Diab Pish, which depicts the Pacific Giant Octopus. You will also visit an art installation featuring the Lushootseed language spoken by the Duwamish tribe. The Duwamish are the original inhabitants of the Seattle area, and they are still a thriving and active part of Seattle culture to this day. Your next clues will take you to the park near the Armory building and to the Fisher Pavilion. The Fisher Pavilion is beautiful and often used for wedding receptions and other fancy affairs. It's a beautiful place to spend some time, especially when searching for escape room clues. The final stop on this adventure is the Neototems Children's Garden. Seattle Center is an incredible place to explore. If you have time, we highly suggest stopping in to see the Chihuly Garden and Glass to see the beautiful glass art. And if you have never been, a trip up the Space Needle (right in the vicinity of the game) is truly breathtaking.

Fun but takes too long
The puzzles were fun but challenging. We had to use a lot of the hints. It’s probably best for a smaller group of 4 or less. We had 7 of us and it was too hard for everyone to see the clues in the box. It was also a lot of fun to see parts of the Seattle Center area that we hadn’t seen, and we’re locals.
The biggest drawback is that there are so many clues and it took a really long time to do. After 2.5 hours of walking around and still weren’t done, we grew tired of it so we gave up and never finished it.

Challenging yet fun
I got Escape the City as a gift for my sister (who just recently moved to Seattle) and we did it together – and we both loved it! The minimalistic size of the box used in conjunction with the app worked very well. Right amount of time, right amount of distance covered, saw places/things we had never seen before. (I have done a city scavenger hunt before, where you really have to travel around different places in the city and it can take the better part of a day to complete, so I truly enjoyed that this one was limited to the Seattle center area in ~3 hours.)

Great escape room experience
Escapely is an amazing company that brings fun and adventure to cities using a virtual escape room experience. Solving the puzzles is so much fun and they give little bits of history of the locations you visit. Feeling hungry? Cause they recommends places as you’re progressing through your adventure too. Highly recommend their products.
We did have an issue getting access to an area due to a paid event going on, but the great thing about their product is that if you need a break, you can always pick up where you left off (which is what we did the following day).

New city, new details to see!
We met up with a couple friends that lived in the area. Everyone enjoyed the box and the puzzles were things a 10 year old child was enjoying helping with. As someone who never really stopped to look at everything near the area before, this was a great way to do so.
We went during a time where one of the puzzles relied on a location closed off due to construction. Thanks to the wonderful hints, we were able to get through it. Overall a wonderful time through Seattle and loved that they incorporated a local business into the puzzle.

What great light fun!
I waited months to review this until we got together to complete it. A friend of ours in Seattle streamed video and we all worked on the puzzles remote. Was an excellent stop by some amazing art, lovely interactions with local in person pieces and not terribly difficult (though the first puzzle got us run ragged). Really well put together, excellently paced, and fun story. 10/10 for sure. If I travel, I’ll definitely pick up any of these for citites I go to.
