Open your clue box near N Morgan St and W Lake St to begin your adventure.
Begin solving using anything you see in the box. Scan the QR code to input your solution and find out where to go.
Search for real-world clues hidden around Chicago and use them to solve puzzles. When you input the correct code, the app will tell you where to go and what to do!
If you get stuck, the no-download app has as many hints as you need. It also has storyline, videos, and more.
Play at your own pace. There's no penalty for hints and no one gets timed out.

PLAYERS PER BOX: We suggest 2-6 so that everyone can share the clues, but it's completely up to you. You can even play alone!
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Adjustable. There's no penalty for hints, so you can take them frequently or challenge yourself.

Highly recommend - so much fun!

What a fun experience – amazing on all levels. One of the most fun evenings we’ve had with friends. Challenging but doable. Super creative and it let us explore an area we thought we knew. Highly recommend for friends groups, families or anyone looking to have a fun evening together.

We loved it so much that we bought a version for another city AND will be doing the team building version with our company.

Amazing puzzle adventure in Chicago!

This is an absolutely amazing experience!! We can’t wait to try Escapely in other cities. It was so much fun and an incredible way to experience our city in a new way, and took us to really cool places in Chicago. We love puzzles and escape rooms, and this is by far one of our best dates we’ve ever done. It would be perfect for a friends day, date night, or family outing.

Excellent escape room with some tricky riddles!

My partner and I did this over 2 days. (We didn’t leave enough time with traffic the first day.) This is totally doable in an afternoon!

This one was cooler than the one we did in Philly. We had to go into certain businesses to solve some of the puzzles and that was great. We also realized that this took us longer to do because we wanted to shop/eat at several of the stops along the way.

I spent 6 years in Chicago and I never went to this neighborhood, so it was great to walk around and see things I wasn’t familiar with.

The clues for some of these were a trickier, but we figured it out! We only used hints twice. 🙂

Highly recommend Outdoor Escape Room in Chicago

My daughter received The Outdoor Escape Room as a gift from her Aunt since she was spending the summer in Chicago. Family came to visit in June and we spent the afternoon thoroughly enjoying the adventure. Got us to an area we would not have seen otherwise and really showed us the area. It was well done and very entertaining. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours.

Turned my city into an awesome Escape Room!

We LOVED the creativity – the clues using murals and fixtures across the bars, streets, and neighborhood were SO cool and clever. We also liked that we were encouraged to check out the bars and shops during the game to grab a drink or snack. The quality of the box and materials provided were impressive as well as the technology.

Some of the bars/shop workers were excited that we came in with the box as they’ve noticed more and more people coming in with them, which we thought was cool! Overall the story was very fun and entertaining!

In Escapely's Chicago escape room, you're a detective tasked with solving a mysterious murder. You must find clues and track suspects around Fulton Market. (The clues are in the real world, but the suspects are on our app.) You start off in search of your first clue at pizza spot PB&J, which offers Escapely players discounts from time to time on our app. Then you get to visit Time Out Market, showcasing some of the best food and drink Chicago has to offer (come hungry).

Since you'll be ready for dessert by then, your next clue is at Molly's Cupcakes. Then you head to the Fulton Market sign to catch up with another suspect and see what clues you can find. Your final clue is at the fun and lively Recess. You won't need to go inside, but you might want to. The culinary scene in Fulton Market is thriving, but it's also a walkable, compact area perfect for an outdoor adventure.

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you’re a serious escape room enthusiast. It’s like playing an escape room with the same storyline and similar puzzles but with different clues available. In the Chicago escape room, the clues are integrated within Fulton Market, so the clues are different from those found in Whodunnit games in other cities. However, the puzzles will feel familiar. That said, we do have enthusiasts who play (and enjoy) the same theme in multiple cities!

An outdoor escape room is an escape room game played out in the real world. Unlike indoor escape rooms, you’re not locked in a room! Instead, you get to find clues while walking around Fulton Market and exploring monuments, murals, coffee shops, and other things you might not have noticed before. Fulton Market is perfect for a Chicago escape room because of its active entertainment scene. There are endless food options nearby, many of which are stops along the escape room route (so be sure to arrive hungry!). Once an industrial warehouse zone, the area now features vibrant murals that are perfect for hiding clues. Fulton Market is also conveniently located and quite walkable. After completing the escape room, you can stick around to explore the place further. There are plenty of galleries, a video arcade, shops to check out, and more food options if you’re still hungry!

If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Green Line to Morgan Station, the Blue Line to Grand Station, or the Halsted bus (8) to Fulton Market.
