Open your clue box in Georgetown to begin your adventure.

A great adventure and a good time!

This was a great adventure! We got to walk around the city and see places we haven’t been, solving puzzles as we went. We took another couple with us and even then the clues were challenging. We needed lots of hints but still had to figure things out. We ended up with a lunch at a local place and got to relive the clues. Lots of fun! We would definitely do another.

A great way to explore new cities!

We had an amazing time with Escapely’s Georgetown ghost adventure! The storyline was surprisingly engaging, and we loved how it incorporated real-world locations into the puzzles. The difficulty level was just right as we only needed a few hints. Exploring the city while solving clues made it a truly unique experience. I’m excited to try more in other cities and maybe even swap games with friends!

Fun, Enjoyable Mystery Box!

My husband and I loved doing the Escapely Georgetown box! We love mysteries and escape rooms, so we thoroughly enjoyed figuring out the different puzzles in this box. It was very convenient to do on our own time and fun to stop at different places along the way. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who likes exploring and solving mysteries!

A fun escape room experience-in-a-box in the heart of Georgetown

A great escape room in a box, and a good way to walk around Georgetown and take in the sights. The puzzles were hard but not impossible. Really, the hardest part was navigating the crowded Georgetown streets. But otherwise, we had a great time with this game!

This escape room adventure around Georgetown in Washington, DC takes the best parts of an escape room and the best parts of a scavenger hunt and merges them into the most fun thing to do in DC (tied with our Adams Morgan adventure!). You get to search for clues hidden in the real world and then use them to solve escape room puzzles. When you solve for a code, the app will tell you where to go look for your next clue! Instead of trying to escape the room, this Escapely adventure takes you around Georgetown to track down ghosts and reunite two star-crossed lovers!

This real world escape room is the most unique escape room in Washington, DC. It takes you on a clue-solving adventure to find clues, solve puzzles, and follow an immersive storyline. If you want to keep the experience a surprise, don't read this next bit - it contains some spoilers about where you'll go on our Washington, DC escape room adventure and what you'll see along the way.

Escapely's Georgetown escape room starts off at the iconic Georgetown Theater marquee sign that was restored in 2016 after more than 20 years unlit. The theater itself has been completely changed inside and turned into a multi-use commercial building, but the marquee sign harkens back to old Georgetown and its important role in Washington, D.C. history. The next few stops take you to explore a few sites on the C&O Canal, which was initially built to be a major shipping and trade route between Washington, D.C. and Maryland. Today, its towpath is a scenic trail. If you have time to spare, go for a walk while you're there!

You'll also get to explore M street, which is the heart of Georgetown and one of DC's most vibrant shopping and entertainment areas. To close out your Washington, D.C. escape room experience, Georgetown is home to many restaurants and shops and has a thriving bar scene. The escape room app will recommend a spot to go close out the experience, but stick around a make a night of it!

Yes, but it is not generally recommended unless you are a serious escape room enthusiast. It would be like playing an escape room that has the same storyline and similar puzzles, but with different clues available. Because the clues are integrated throughout Georgetown, the clues themselves are different from all other Relic games. But the puzzles will feel very familiar.

Georgetown is one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. and for good reason. It's the perfect combination of historic, modern, lively, and beautiful. Our outdoor escape room adventure takes place along the row houses, waterways, bridges, and shopping streets throughout Georgetown. Everything is in walking distance, and the neighborhood is known for its walkability. If you want to stick around and make a night of it (which is the best way to fully enjoy our Georgetown escape room experience), there are too many restaurants, pubs, and bars in the area to count.

It's both! In a traditional escape room you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next to escape the room (or a series of rooms). In Escape the City you must solve puzzles that lead from one to the next, with clues in the real world. It's one of the best things to do in Georgetown and even DC as a whole!

There is plenty of street parking and parking garages throughout Georgetown. However, it's notably not as connected to public transportation as the rest of Washington, D.C. You can also take ride share, as the whole game is in walking distance once you get there - you won't need a car to complete the escape room.

There are no indoor clues in our Georgetown escape room game. Everything is publicly accessible.
